The Cover for The Temporal Scythe: A Journey of Creation and Resilience.


Hi everyone, it’s L.S. Franco here, and I am beyond excited to share that the cover for The Temporal Scythe is ready and will be revealed soon! This moment feels like crossing a finish line after a marathon—a journey that tested me both as an author and as a person.

The Hardest Cover Yet

Let me start by saying, this was by far the hardest cover to bring to life in the Conjurer's Prophecy trilogy. It took an extraordinary amount of back-and-forth discussions, countless brainstorming sessions, and more changes than I’ve ever had to make before. At one point, we even threw some design elements to a public vote. Honestly, the results didn’t align with what I had envisioned, but I decided to trust the readers’ instincts. Sticking with the people’s choice turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made, and I’m so grateful for this collaboration with you all.

Writing Through Life’s Challenges

Writing The Temporal Scythe was no walk in the park either. It came at a time when my personal and professional worlds were undergoing massive changes. At Envirolyte, where I work as Chief Strategy Officer, we embarked on a major restructuring and expansion. It was an incredible rollercoaster—exhilarating and fulfilling—but it also took a toll on my personal life and my ability to write.

Amidst all this, I found myself reevaluating the direction of The Temporal Scythe. Life’s challenges seeped into the story, inspiring me to change the plot last minute. What followed was a complete rewrite of the book’s skeleton. I tore everything down and started from scratch, building the story up again piece by piece. This wasn’t my first rodeo; I had to do the same with The Pandora’s Box. It’s never easy, but there’s something cathartic about burning things to the ground and creating something stronger and truer from the ashes.

The Relief of Completion

Now, with the cover ready and the story finally in its completed form, I feel an immense sense of relief and gratitude. This cover—the culmination of endless creative effort—symbolizes not just the final chapter of the trilogy but also my journey through one of the most transformative periods of my life.
